How it works
- Book a time. Same-day sessions are often available, with early morning and evening options.
- Upload your unsigned document through the secure platform link I send you.
- Verify your identity. You'll photograph your ID and answer a few automated knowledge-based questions.
- Sign on live video. We meet face to face, you sign electronically, and I apply my electronic seal.
- Download your document right away, with a recording of the session kept as Ohio law requires.
What you'll need
- A computer, tablet, or phone with a camera, microphone, and steady internet
- A current government-issued photo ID (driver's license, state ID, or passport)
- Your document as a PDF, unsigned
- A quiet, private spot for about 15 to 20 minutes
Documents that work well online
- Powers of attorney and health care directives
- Affidavits, sworn statements, and name change affidavits
- Trust certifications and declarations
- Business contracts and corporate documents
- Travel consent letters for minors
Before booking, confirm the person or agency receiving your document accepts electronic notarization. Most do, but some county recorders, courts, and foreign governments have their own rules. Paper vehicle titles can't be notarized online; book a mobile appointment for those.
Questions
Is online notarization legal in Ohio?
Yes. Ohio authorizes remote online notarization by commissioned notaries who complete state RON training and use an approved platform, and the notarization carries the same legal weight as an in-person one.
Do I have to live in Ohio?
No. As an Ohio RON notary I can notarize for signers located in other states and many locations abroad, as long as the receiving party accepts an electronic notarization.
How long does it take?
Most single-document sessions take 15 to 20 minutes, including identity verification.
What if my ID check fails?
The platform allows a limited number of attempts. If verification doesn't go through, we can reschedule or switch to an in-person appointment.
